Mauthausen-Studien 6: Christian Rabl
The sixth volume in the series "Mauthausen-Studien" is the work "Das KZ-Außenlager St. Aegyd am Neuwalde" by Christian Rabl.
The history of the Mauthausen subcamp St. Aegyd am Neuwalde has remained unknown until now. Christian Rabl’s 2006 master’s thesis with the title "Vergessen oder verdrängt? Das Mauthausen-Außenkommando St. Aegyd am Neuwalde und seine Rolle im NS-Lagersystem" was the first academic study of this camp. His wirk dealt with the central aspects of the history of this concentration camp but the question of the purpose of the camp remained unanswered. As part of a research project financed by the Mauthausen Memorial, Christian Rabl was able to investigate this and other questions in detail. This volume in the series now presents the results of this research project to a wider readership. The publication also remembers 46 victims of the St. Aegyd concentration camp known by name.
